How it works

Create your designs at Fab.Pub with laser cutting and engraving options across various materials to make anything from personalised products, signage, jewellery, architectural models, prototypes and more.
We offer a DIY service, which allows anyone to freely make and create their projects and learn how to use our laser cutting machines.

Step 1

Select laser machine

Select the Laser Cutting option under Bookings to see the availability of the machine. If it’s your first time, you will need to book a free induction beforehand.

Step 2

Select a date & time

Available dates and times are available for you to choose from. If you need more than an hour select +Add More bookings after you’ve entered your info.

Step 3

Make a payment

You will be taken to PayPal to make a payment via your PayPal account or continue as guest to use a credit/debit card. You will receive a confirmation email to confirm your booking time and date.

Step 4

Confirm booking

You should arrive 5 min before your appointment to setup. Don’t forget to bring your own materials or if you need to order let us know. Your file must be in .DXF format on a USB drive.

Range of materials that we cut

We can cut and edge a wide range of material e.g. paper, fabric, plastics and plywood and we can engrave on hard material like glass and unfinished metals. Some plastic are not suitable for laser cutting such as PolyPropylene Foam and HDPE. If you have doubt about the material you would like to cut, please check with us before making the booking.

DIY materials
For DIY you can bring your own materials in the list below. Please note, we cannot cut any types of glass or metals. 
Cut and Engrave:
– Paper, card and print media
– Fabric Leather Acrylic, nylon and other non-PVC plastics
– Plastic laminates Latex and rubber
– Plywood and MDF Wood and wood veneers 
Engrave only:
– Glass, granite, slate and marble
– Anodised and coated metals
– Uncoated metals (ceramic marking compound required)
File formats
Your file must be exported in .DXF format and ready to go on your own USB drive. Only vector artwork is accepted by the machine's operating software, and your file must not contain grouped geometry or compound paths. Any fills/hatches can be removed as the software accepts lines and curves only. You can differentiate between cutting and engraving using different layers in your file. If possible, send us your file in advance of your visit so we can check it is setup correctly.
