Who is FabPub for?
FabPub is for anyone who has an idea and is interested in learning the latest technologies to turn ideas into reality. We strive to accommodate as many models of creation as possible and constantly search for new ways to help people learn and innovate.
What are your opening hours?
We are open from 9:30am – 6:30pm Mon-Fri excl public holidays. Once you have your time slot booked, you can come in whenever it’s your turn to use the machine. We highly suggest coming around 15 minutes earlier to set yourself up. If you need to use the machine on the weekends or afterhours, please contact us on info@fab.pub so we can arrange an appropriate time.
How can I decide which machine I should use?
You should be able to identify which machine you would like to use as everyone has different preferences on the final design quality. If you are not sure which machine you should use, contact us.
Will I need an induction course?
Yes, everyone who uses the FabPub machine for the very first time will be required to get an initial 15 mins induction, you can find this in our bookings page.
Do I need to bring my own materials for laser cutting?
Yes, you will need to bring your own.
We do sometimes stock 2/3/6 mm MDF/acrylic for laser cutting and 3mm PLA in white colour for 3D printer which you can request for in addition to the machine hire. If you would like to use other materials, it’s possible or would like us to purchase for you please let us know.
I’m not sure how long I should book the machine for, what is the average time?
For laser cutting, you will need to measure the length of your curve. However, this speed is subject to the thickness of the material you would like to cut. Otherwise on average most of our customers take 2-3 hours, you can add more hours if you need later as long as the booking slot is free

I don’t know how to create a 3D file, can I just send you a design?
Yes that is possible, we have a team of designers who can help transform your design to a 3D file. Just contact us and tell us what you are after, any pictures or images would be helpful.
How long will it take once I submit a design?
An estimate will be provided shortly after you submit your enquiry, as this may vary on size, complexity of the shape, materials required.
Can I just send you a file to print or laser cut?
Of course! We will need to check that your file is ok to print and we will provide you a quote after assessment. We charge on an hourly basis depending on which machine you choose.
What payments do you accept?
You can pay via bank transfer or PayPal which must be done before we send the product to you, or if you are picking up then payment can be made at the premises too via debit/credit card.
How does it work if I was to send you my 3D file?
We will need to review the file to ensure that it will work with our 3D Printer. After reviewing we will contact you with a quote to make sure you are happy before proceeding. Payment is required before we send the final product to you.
I’m new to 3D printing, does that matter?
Don’t worry most people are, that’s why we are here to guide you. Most designers requiring a 3D Print may need a few prototypes before they reach the final desired outcome, so ensure that you build this into your timelines and budget!
What are your delivery options?
You can come collect via our office here at 22 Gossamer Gardens, London E2 9FN or we can deliver to you at a cost and this varies on weight, material and size. If so we use Royal Mail.
